Health Resources and Services Administration offers several student loan repayment programs for the Health Workforce. Deadlines and more information on the various programs are listed here:

National Health Service Corps Scholarship

You can apply to the Scholarship Program if you are committed to primary care and accepted to or enrolled in an accredited U.S. school in one of the following primary care disciplines:

  • Physicians
  • Dentists
  • Nurse Practitioners (post-graduate degree with clinical practice focus)
  • Certified Nurse-Midwives
  • Physician Assistants
  •  

The scholarship pays tuition, fees, other educational costs, and provides a living stipend in return for a commitment to work at least 2 years at an NHSC-approved site in a medically underserved community.

NYS Higher Education Services Corporation - Senator Patricia K. McGee Nursing Faculty Scholarship Program

Senator Patricia K. McGee Nursing Faculty Scholarship Program is offered to increase the number of nursing teachers and adjunct clinical faculty in the vital role of preparing New York State’s future nurses. Awards are made on a competitive basis to applicants who are registered professional nurses enrolling in graduate programs that will qualify them as nursing faculty or adjunct clinical faculty. 

healthcare workers for our future scholarship

The "Healthcare Workers for Our Future" scholarship provides a two-year scholarship to approximately 500 selected recipients covering tuition, room and board, and other related expenses in an approved program of study at any approved New York state public or private college or university. Individuals seeking to pursue a degree as a Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Radiologic Technology and Surgical Technical are eligible to apply.
