Community Health Worker Trainings
This training was designed to support the development of Community Health Workers (CHWs) by strengthening CHW skills, knowledge, and abilities. By creating this type of training, CHWs will be highly competent and successful in this new healthcare reform environment.
Objectives of Training:
- Work with community agencies to decrease health disparities, achieve better healthcare at lower cost, and develop healthier communities
- Function as a facilitator and resource in an effort to integrate Community Health Workers into communities to address challenges facing individuals, health care organizations, and social services systems
- Cultivate awareness, promote education, connect with community agencies to expand connection to resources, and provide information and networking
- Define Health Literacy, how to assess health literacy skills, and strategies to address them
