Improving Health & Healthcare Through Education

WNY R-AHEC provides workforce development for individuals and organizations. R-AHEC offers valuable training using AHEC’s knowledge, experience, and expertise in workforce development. WNY R-AHEC has more than 20 years of experience in workforce development and training facilitation across twenty-three counties in Western/Central NY. In 2006, R-AHEC received a “Center Award for Excellence” from the National AHEC Organization for its health professions and workforce training programs. R-AHEC is a recognized, neutral, regional facilitation resource capable of successful implementation of workforce training and is a conduit for reliable, timely information. Additionally, R-AHEC has been a recipient of eight Health Workforce Retraining Initiative (HWRI) awards from the NY State Department of Health (DOH) beginning in 2001.

(WNY R-AHEC) is recognized by the New York State Education Department’s State Boards for     Social Work (#SW-0685), Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Mental Health Practitioners (#MHC-0268) as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers, physical therapists and assistants, occupational therapists and assistants, and licensed mental health counselors.
